The Edelbrock E-Tec Cylinder Head incorporates a high-quench 64cc combustion chamber design. It promotes more uniform atomization of the air / fuel mixture for more power. It is assembled with one-piece stainless steel valves, 1.46 valve springs, retainers and locks. It works with most exhaust manifolds and headers and has intake and exhaust ports that are 0.200'' taller. It produces good horsepower up to 6,000 RPM. The 64cc combustion chamber gives about 9.2:1 compression ratio with stock pistons in a 350 cubic inch engine. The diameter of the intake valve is 1.940 and the exhaust valve is 1.550. The volume of the intake runner is 170, exhaust runner is 70cc and the volume of the combustion chamber is 64cc. The intake and exhaust runners are CNC-machine profiled for superior flow and performance.

The Edelbrock Performer RPM 454-O Street Cylinder Heads are oval port heads that will support over 540 hp with 9.5:1 compression when used as part of the Total Power Package. These street high-performance heads provide out-of-the-box, bolt-on performance with no additional porting required. They offer improved power throughout the RPM range for great throttle response and top-end horsepower . The intake and exhaust runners are CNC-profiled for superior flow and performance. This unique intake port design produces flow, close to rectangular port heads, but with the smaller port size and velocity of an oval port for excellent seat-of-the-pants performance and crisp throttle response. The semi-open chamber design maximizes combustion efficiency with streetable compression ratios. The stainless steel 2.19" intake and 1.88" exhaust valves have smaller-than-stock 11/32" valve stems to promote excellent flow and lighter valve weight. The deck surface and water jackets were specially designed to work with all big-block engine blocks. The heads include top-quality ARP rocker studs, bronze guides and hardened, ductile iron valve seats.

Modified from OE cylinder head castings, substantial gas flow improvements and upgraded valve train components offer superior performance for your high performance engine.Each original cylinder head design is carefully evaluated and tested to establish the improvements required to meet the target performance level. Hours of testing and flow bench validation are used to determine the best advanced port design yielding maximum usable power and response. However, there is more to cylinder design than just maximum flow.
